It is said, written and speculated a lot in the media and social networks about Masonry, Common questions are; What is Freemasonry?. What Masons do? What purpose pursued? Speculation has often been influenced by secular critics, the theme is extended due to popular imagination that creates picturesque legends, gruesome tales of the mysterious and occult rites, always presided over by the devil and inspired by evil geniuses, as a platform to a contrary group of religious doctrines that prevail in society, and in a number of gruesome stories that are forming a bad version in the popular mind, creating a great scene in which we are represented in various ways the popular imagination conceives the brotherhood.

Our enemies are surprised to learn that everything they say and do against the order does not affect us, and instead has served to meditate and reflect on it, to draw positive conclusions that reassures our strengthens and principles, providing themes  for delight philosophical work and depth understanding of the Order by theirs members.

t is unfortunate to note that many people who has a vast culture, but completely blind dominated by a load of superstition and bigotry, ingrained in their homes.And if we go through the list of Masons, be found to their surprise that Freemasons remain the best and most distinguished exponents of humanity, in all fields, therefore if they form part of the Order select persons of such high moral character and skills, scientific, political, economic. By deduction and logical reason that institution can never be what critics believe, or what they told them to, but quite another, a true reflection of the quality of the members,

There are also members who do not fully understand the Order, Without Masonic understanding they remain in the shadows without a glimpse of the sky, even if they are highly educated, scholars and professionals, a deep meditation could pave the way to a proper understanding and direct them to the white light.

Perfection is based on harmony, and boundless beauty of things, so we try to make everything around us within of this principle for a world of vast understanding, tolerance, balance of form and content, of love and peace, for the clear spring water that take the shape of the glass that we drink wisdom. Masons are dedicated to find the relative perfection and imperfection in our own person.

Lot of persons begin in the order trying to climb social, political and economic position, that is to say they hope to find the paradise for unscrupulous personal ambition, or they think that they are going to find a propitious field for thirs modus vivendi. But how disappointed they feel when they discover that in fact the authentic Freemasons come to give and not to ask.

The Masonic help is especially spiritual and moral; since when a brother commits an offense, we do not hide or protect him against the laws and the morality, we are very far from all that, only we dismay ourselves that him has fallen from grace, hope that he should repent, helping in this case the family, but never supporting anyone in immoralities that inexorably have to lead to removing that person from the Institution and no keep traces of his step between us. This kind of brothers are admitted in the order from all parts of the world, is fortunately a very small number and they just got disillusioned to discover the truth, ashamed and even regenerated, but are separated by a natural Law, are definitely far from the Pillars of this Order of virtue and morality.

Pursuing spiritual perfection for ourselves; first of all of the humanity; the patient cultivation of the sciences, the supported practice of the virtues, the pure morality, tolerance, the implicit and absolute recognition of the value of any other person, so much like ours, the approach and cult to the friendship; with all the values of the human species and together to look for the biggest happiness in the world, pushing back egoism, envy, excessive ambitions, hypocrisy, constructing our spiritual cubic stone and that of other human beings in the universal love temple, giving well-being and peace to a humanity who eternally looks for this conquest that started with our first Big Masters.

Is necessary to enumerate some rules to better understand our order: To believe in the soul and its immortality. The question is: Where must we look for the soul? Inside the jumble of our actions, there is where the Freemasons we refine the Brute Stone with laboriousness of a perfect artist and turn in Useful Stone to construct our temple that will be permeable to the vibrations of  the virtues, in the morality and in love. Another question. What will we do when we find it? To polish it and to clean it of impurity with the chisel of the science and the virtue and with the sharp mallet of the reason and the love so that it is free, brilliant, beautiful and forceful. And that purpose chases with it? To do a useful piece as the cubic stone that fits in the big moral temple that we are constructing inside ours, where the freedom anthems are sung, hurras to the life, hosannas and hallelujahs to our own discoveries of our exceptional qualities that we possess to carry out the big work of love so that the peace and the love reigns especially.

How do we construct our internal temple? As the word Freemasons means bricklayers and everything in the Freemasonry is taught by means of symbols and allegory, our purpose has to be related to the office that we represent. The temple that we must construct is the temple of the Nature, in which the freedom must reign, the equality and the brotherhood dealt with the Masonic sense: temples in which there is taught the truth, the virtue, the morality and love. And we fight against the intolerance, fanaticism and ignorance.

Clarifying the term Nature, it means the ideal state of the man where the perfection and the happiness survives. That is to say to return to the human being these qualities all together with the freedom, equality and natural brotherhood.

Liberty:
The absolute and unlimited human independence to act as you think best, so it is accountable. Freedom has nature as a principle of justice by regulation, for safeguarding the law, the moral limits are contained in this sublime maxim "What you do not want for yourself, you do not want to another." Therefore freedom is identical to the sovereignty, where we cease to be subjects, and we respond to ourselves.

The Equality for the Freemasons is absolute in all kinds of rights be innate or acquired. “The human beings are equal in right and from any point of view they are of equal condition”.  No first or last, no strong or weak, big or small, but brothers. Por tanto en la Masonería hay la completa ausencia de privilegios, colocando al ciudadano en la misma categoría, bajo el concepto de los derechos. We recognize that all humans are born equal, therefore so we believe that there is no difference between commanding and obeying, between those who produce and those who consume between who pays and who charges: either formed by the same creative principle , subject to the same physical complaints and to the same causes of destruction. Only the merit of the knowledge, the talent, the virtue and the work are the only distinctions that adquiren voluntarily.  Without wanting to disorder the social balance, neither to equal fortunes, to deprive to some for the sake of all.

The brotherhood is the suppression of all inequality, of any distinction of rights, so that there does not have to be but only one universal family where the humanity will congregate to cultivate in brotherhood the most intimate and deep bond that the simple friendship,and the widest extension, should therefore include all those who recognize and profess, sharing ideals, goals and aspirations, even though their culture and ideas can be very different.

For this reason we must first shed the errors and false beliefs, to begin the path of truth, whose knowledge is understanding symbolically by a set of signs and allegories, that constitute the Masonic attitude and this way we will be qualified to be recognized universally like brothers, since we can only find the fraternity to the extent and degree to which we recognize and practice. Also we have in our bosom the brotherhood, in the sense restricted to the mutual help between the brothers.

Always trying that all brothers work to make the fraternity effective, be generalized and extend over the whole earth as a normal relationship between all human beings, peoples and nations. Everyone can be brother and must occur in the depths of our hearts.

That's the truth of the fraternity that much pronounced and little practiced. It is a communion with the principle of life, as a tool to bring down the illusory barriers that divide men. When the veil falls over the eyes of humanity, Masonry will spread its light on earth

Nothing more beautiful than this communion of men of goodwill, conscious of their duties, faithful to their oaths, giving a brilliant example for those who needed stimulus to feel the shaking of asleep energies by deceptions and failures. In all of them spoke very high that virtue that they imposing freely to themselves and is called duty.

They feel the suggestive power of the ideal and they are going towards it, attracted by its mysterious enchantments, by its divine footpaths, their inexhaustible torrents of good, their fecund wisdom, its eternity, its infinite beauty.

The workers of the good in their multiple aspects accumulate molecule after molecule to raise that great construction that has its foundations on Earth, and its crowing in regions that are not known because they ignore the finish of the road, even if they imagine it perfect; because the progress is indefinite, but they work with the faith of the knowledge, with the faith of the wisdom, the confidence that the force gives, with the emotion that produces the beauty. The wisdom that takes them by hand following the subtle thread of the study in those mysterious cameras in which the old truths lies like virgins who wait for the fall of the veil of Isis to offering their collaboration to the laboratory of the life.

The Wisdom like a video tape discovers the mind, in incessant progression the wonderful secrets of the nature in its two aspects: psychic and physical, they are revealing to initiate them in the great mystery. The wisdom, unique light able to illuminate the footpath that through the cycles of evolution follows the ascending arc towards to the unknowable,towards the absolute, the non manifest. The wisdom, pious daughter of the sky that awards the day with the divine kiss that ignites the soul in the light of immortality. It is sustained in three pillars, they are:

The Force: That gives the faith in the power of the union of wills, aspiration towards the same ideal, that fortifies the principles that vitalize the convictions that feeds the love, that consecrates the sacrifice, image of the oneself in the world of the appearances, of the contrast, of the individualism.

The Beauty: Created for the delicate spirits brought by the Hellenic genius to initiate them in the indescribable aesthetics emotion of the pure souls that have a feeling of the perfect form of the archetype. The moral beauty that gives nobility to the dignify life of the soul, purifies the body and contributes the finest materials for the construction of the strong and healthful societies.

The duty it is the constant application of the will to the acts that we create consecrated to the common good, by virtue of a pact which we make between our conscience and the other consciences that are related to us in our life.

The wisdom that directs; the force that constructs; the beauty that gives form; the duty that forces the work. Here there are the four great powers that direct the human evolution. All are needed and all are complemented. The wisdom needs the beauty and force to pronounce itself . The force needs to be guide by wisdom to manifestitself beautifully . The beauty needs to cause emotion be directed by the wisdom, be sustains by the force . The duty requires all three to be logical.

With these three lights we go towards the attainment of our true purposes; because all human work that does not constitute by these four elements of immortality, is weak and it perishes.

But the good does not perish. Its passage by the Earth leaves the track of the step that non flock the furrows of the time. The good is wise, is strong, is beautiful because is the duty itself. Do the good to be wise, to be strong, to be beautiful. To fulfill the duty to feed the light that burns in our hearts, carry out the duty because it is the only channel through which flows that spark that makes us live; because it is the smooth murmur that incessantly sings to the ear inviting to the duty; it is the word that brought from India, that keeps the secret from the principle and the end; as brought from Rome the word of the law; from Persia the one of force; Greece the one of beauty; Egypt the one of religion, but above all has survived the one from India because it keeps the unique concept of duty, that is the reason of good. They passed Rome, ancient Egypt and ancient Greece; but ancient India, giving us the words of duty, the word of the good, in the Theosophy, the wisdom, sister of the masonry, that like white dove, symbol of Peace, overcame its flight and passed the Himalayas to bring to the West the word of duty, the word to go through the Gold Door. The great founders of religions, that although with different aspects present the truth and like one and indivisible, synthesized their doctrines in duty.

Fulfilled the duty, well-known that the duty is the good and that the wisdom, the force and the beauty are immortality What can stop us in our way? What philosophy?, what religion?, what school?, what conception of the life will be able to demolish the unique conception that admits a divine plan?.

There is much good to do in the world around us and for us preferably in the society that we belong. To fight by the formation of a fair government and given to the great majorities and not to the tiny groups of privilege. We must compel that their governance is efficient. To fight by the elimination of corruption in all areas of action, from the politic where they have become mercantilism with the pretext of guarding the interests of the country, they work in their own benefit and dishonor the robe that the people put on them.

We know that a great moral misfortune corrodes the foundations of our towns and threatens to destroy the conquests of the true democracy, because behind the decay are in necessity the hand of the demagogue and the religious brake that chains the thought.

But anyway, the voice of duty prevails and is calling to us still at the moments at which we give rest to the continuous struggle of the mind disturbed by the horrors of the world. It is necessary to activate the thought like cultural agent. We all recognize the capacity of the human being to assimilate knowledge. We must fill ourselves of possibilities to force them to give to us opportunities. But for these opportunities we must not wait for the governments neither of the politicians to give them to us, nor of the institutions whose action does not extend but through ourself, men and women given to the causes of the humanity.

We can penetrate with our thought in the office of the politician, of the bourgeois, in the cell of the high ecclesiastical authority, in the labyrinths of the public institutions, and after this laborious and devastating trip we will ask ourselves Where is the duty? The answer is in the few illuminated ones by the light of the path. The society as race needs illuminated human beings. They collected the initiatives from the poors of the unjust society and do the work of duty to our fellow human beings.

It is the work of duty?

The duty is persuasive because is useful, is noble because it has the delicate essence of the sublime, is wisdom because disciplined the soul; it is strong because convinces; is beautiful because dignified; heroic because is sacrificed and by all this is amiable.

But those are aspirations of great souls, and there are not many great souls in the social mass whose indiscipline and ignorance we deplored. It is necessary to work there; in the town, in the foundations, the base that supports the wealth, the luxury, the injustice, by virtue of its unconsciousness, as the root of the tree that ignores the splendorous of the crown.

To the work, illuminated, we did not need the politicians, nor the religions, we only need the force that has the wisdom, force, beauty and duty. The failure is no waited for us, because our work is spiritual and the spiritual takes us to the success that will shine when the law of the blow of mallet and says to the men of good will “Standing and to the order"

I can say there is not a Masonic Moral Code but is our duty create it, by means to understand first the factors on which the Code will act and to see that code especially: avoid to humiliate human beings, avoid dividing them like herds, avoid to outraged them,allow them to grow, to respect their complex integrity because we are subject to certain laws seemingly contradictory but in the deep are harmonic.

There are many books, encyclopedias in which the subject is the Masonic moral code, but they are simply lyrical moralists who have written volumes, copying to each other, but without having a real and practical effect to overcome Masonry difficulties and their ongoing struggles for false power among brothers, lodges and Orients, which leads to wear out and a lack of credibility in the rest of the world. Here we must apply our strengths to overcome it with tenacity and unlimited courage and confidence in ourselves to get the great achievements that humanity expected.

THIS CODE IS UNIVERSALLY RECOGNIZED SINCE THE REORGANIZATION OF MASONRY BY THE GREAT LOG:. OF ENGLAND, IN THE YEAR 1717, AND APPROVED BY THE CONVENTION OF LAUSANNE, SWITZERLAND, SEPTEMBER 5, 1875, E:. V:.

1. Worship the Great Architect of the Universe.

2. Love your neighbor.

3. Do good, and let the men talk.

4. The true worship of God, consist in good manners.

5. Do good, for the love of goodness itself.

6. Keep your soul pure that may arise at any time before God, free from reproach.

7. Love the good people, pity the weak and flee from the wicked. But do not hate anyone.

8.Speak respectfully to the great, to your peers wisely, sincerely with your friends, and with tenderness to the poor.

9. Do not flatter your brother ever, because it is a betrayal, and if your brother flatter, beware of being corrupted.

10. Always listen to the voice of your conscience.

11. Be the father of the poor. Every sigh that you hardness start, will be a curse that will fall on your head.

12. Respect the stranger and the traveler, because their position makes them sacred for you.

13. When in time you are a foreign, do not abuse this circumstance claiming major considerations than those of justice.

14. Avoid disputes and prevent the insults putting the reason in the middle.

15. Respect women. Never abuse their weakness, and dies before dishonor them.

16. If the Great Architect of the Universe gives you a son, give thanks, but tremble for the deposit that he entrust to you , because from now on you shall be for that child, the image of Divinity.

17. Do that until ten years be afraid of you, up to twenty, love you and respect you to death.

18. Until ten years, be his teacher; in the twenty, his father, and to death, his friend.

19. Teach first and foremost, good principles, and then, beautiful manners. That he owe you an enlightened doctrine, rather than a frivolous elegance.

20. That is better, an honest man, than a skillful man.

21. Read and be useful; see and imitates; reflect and works.

22. And everything result to the benefit of your brothers, is for your own utility.

23. Be always happy with all, for all and everything.

24 Never judge lightly the actions of the men. Forgive and not condemn.

25. The Great Architect of the Universe is who sound out our hearts. He is the only one who can appreciate his work.

After reading with attention these so valuable essentials for the Masons, I allowed myself to reflect on how presents it to the man dedicated to himself and subject to the yoke of the passions; to the libertine devoured by the horror that it inspires prematurely; to the greedy one that expires ragged and hungry between piles of gold; to the self-seeker enduring the torture of his desires, always increasing and inextinguishable and never satisfied nor mitigated, and therefore other unhappy beings, for whom a moment of rest never exists, for which any consolation seems flees for them, and is forbidden to them the sweet serenity and the calm of a perfect Freemason, for whom his Brotherhood, daughter of the hope, develops the most brilliant examples and offers the most sweet consolations.

If we try to govern our lives, it is indispensable that earlier we teach ourselves to select wisely our mysteries, without admitting any concept that could do damage to us.

Brothers let's not get confused, it could be and with luck of which some of you perhaps as I believe in the Masonic Code, but the same way the despondency can come to us because the history of the Freemasonry is beginning, we are giving the first steps in the history of the humanity.

We have hundreds of years ahead until the people understand, until the brothers understand, until each one of us that populate the earth understand that we are a spiritual entity so that the human unit shines, and in our planet reigns not just the technology but the spirit.

If, we have many years and for that we can begin to implement values of the Masonic Moral Code, and we can leave for future generations, the real science of peace, the true science of human cooperation, the true science of the superiority of the divinity of human being.

The internal perfection

It is called Masonry the study of the sciences and the practice of the virtues; we understand for science; the reasons of why of the rules to done right in some thing, and for virtue; be under the rules of the good live and the constant practice of the good, for love to the good itself, and nothing more.

 

The Masonry is an institution of complex nature, which it does not have religion, for all exist in its bosom, and not to have it, what excludes all of them, without predominance of any; has no homeland, because would not take character from being eminently universal; lacks of race, because survives under all climates; it has no color, because then it would deny the virtue, quality capable of being in any black, yellow or white, poor or rich, big or small human being.

 

Those who affirm that the Masonry is in battle with this or that religion, are persons who ignore what is the Masonic Institution, and judge only for reference or for passion to this one or other cause. If the Masonry was attacking to some belief or religion, there would no be in its bosom individuals who are simultaneously believers and Masons, it would not have intransigent religious and convinced Masons.

 

The Masonry leaves to its members the widest faculty to think and to believe; but it rebels against any fanatical invasion at any form in which appears; since any exaggeration in the ideas or beliefs is a vice that exalts and that is fights without truce, bearing in mind for it “The man is free for everything, but to be a slave”.

The Masonry, altruistic and tolerant institution is simultaneously a school, temple, academy, that to its intellectual works adds the principles that govern in life the eternal teachings of the healthiest morality; that practises the highest virtues trying to do real “Love one another”.

As a school, an institution founded on objective bases of evident truths. In philosophy, does not give preference to any system, because sensualism ruins the spiritual principles; worships the reason, attribute of man, but gives no preference to the pure rationalism that would remove all metaphysical principles that are known and respected as fundamental principles of ideology, we see that their philosophy is eclectic, so all systems have a place with no preference in either, bearing in mind: The truth is one and the roads through which the human spirit can reach beyond are many.

The Masonry has never goner against any religion, sect, ideology, idea, belief or political faction; what it has done in any case is to fight any fanaticism and any superstition; because these vices are the most exalted form of the reason, which perverting the understanding and disturbing the criterion there have been the cause of the loss of the ideas that have led the humanity to the most serious errors; from there the cruelest wars have gone out, as there have been the religious wars, from which was born of the historical fanatics religious, the most repugnant acts that the history remembers with horror and was called “The Inquisition”; in the modern world the fratricidal war in Ireland, between Catholic and Protestant; the peoples of the Middle East to force the imposition of Islam, etc.

The Masonry has suffered patiently and with resignation all the pursuits that its cruelest and fierce enemies have done; it has seen with piety eyes its detractors;excused all those that somehow have scoffed at it; since it understands that it could not be understood by all, and in some cases by its own followers, so when there comes this fortunate epoch in which all the men know what is the Masonry, this day will be on earth the reign of the freedom, and the justice will govern all the nations and in this way the Masonry will have fulfilled its mission and its work, reason so that the Masonry stops being.

The Masonry is not a charitable institution, like many that exist with ends of mutual help; it exercises the charity under all its declarations; since the Masonry believes the humanity not only needs crusts: then, an advice on time; an opportune observation; a suitable reprimand; a scolding without asperity; a correction without shaming or any amendment to the defects or losses are also benefactions that we must use in favor of the brothers and friends. “To share the happy moments and to relieve the sorrow” there are brotherhood duties. “not only of bread the man lives”.

The Masonry worship the virtues, adores the truth, respects the reason, fights for the justice and loves the law, emanations of the Big Architect of the Universe. The Masons consider him like the eternal and existing being and is for that the human being is immortal, and is prepared in this life for eternal and future other one, in identical contrast first with the philosophy of the antiquity and then with the religious doctrines of Occident that circumscribe the human existence to the present life.

Therefore, these two doctrines: that of the unit of the Supreme Being and that of the Immortality of the Soul constitute the philosophy of the Masonry. Hence in the history of the humanity we will always find institutions and associations that were teaching these truths of an allegorical and symbolic way, in spite of developing often in an ambiance in which it was predominating over the intellectual obscurantism and the degradation of the ancient polytheistic religions and I believe to have right to support that these accusations were the excuse or cause, that is to say the predecessors of the Masonic institution, as today it exists.

MASONIC TEMPLE

As the word mason means Bricklayer and everything in the masonry is taught by allegories, the purpose of a bricklayers' society has to be related to the office that it represents. In the Masonic language always takes as an essential objective to construct or to restore a temple. Can be the temple of the nature or the internal temple, in which there must reign the freedom, the equality and the brotherhood and there is tough the virtue and the proper morality of the Order.

The Masonry is the ideal state of the human being; it is the state in which he/she finds and preserves his/her perfection and happiness. This state has been destroyed by the religion, the dogmas and the fanaticism. These have taken the human being primitive freedom, equality and destroyed his brotherhood. The Masonry fights for the return of the mankind to the perfection and original happiness, freedom, equality and natural brotherhood.

MASONIC LEGENDS

The Masonic ritual is full of legends, especially in the top grades, beginning for the Master, in whom there is the legend of Hiram's death. In these legends the allegories are involved to communicate its light between the brothers and to hide it of the profanes.

The difference between allegory and symbol is that this one has a meaning purely conventional, so that it is impossible for the one that is not in the secret to discover it; the allegory, on the other hand, “is a speech or story in which there is a literal and figurative sense, a clear sense and connected one, being the intention of the one that uses the clear sense that of indicating for analogy or comparison, the figurative or secret one”.

The interpretation of the allegory is easy, and that's why someone has said that “the allegory inhabits in a diaphanous palace”. For it all the legends of the Masonry are allegorical and has its importance in its historical truth.

THE SYMBOLS

The initiation is only the beginning of the internal work of the Masonry. Then there comes a process of instruction where the symbolism of the legends is learned.

Everything is a symbol in the Masonry. That of the first three grades is called usually symbolic Masonry, in contrast to other one, which is that of the philosophical grades. The symbol is a sensitive image used to express a secret sense, but analogical. But this symbolic image is only conventional, that is to say, that has only a conventional relation, freely agreed for those that they use it, with the important thing. Therefore it is impossible that the one that is not in the agreement realizes its sense.

It would not be possible that I was giving here the symbolic sense of everything what exists in a lodge and of all the ceremonies that are used. Would be necessary big space for it; especially since the significance of the symbols has diverse senses as the initiated one is penetrating in grades and Masonic knowledge.

As example of the above mentioned I will analyze the triangle that represents the Big Architect of the Universe, or Masonic Trinity, or, the nature with its three kingdoms, mineral, vegetable and animal. The word god begins in many languages with the letter D, letter that in Greek is a triangle. In the middle is the letter G, that means generation.

“This trino god, says Ragón, has three mysteries that symbolize also three sides of the triangle: 1st Everything is formed by the generation. 2nd The destruction follows the generation in all its works. 3rd The regeneration, under other forms, continues the effects of the destruction.

Let's analyze another symbol that is the brute stone, and the polished stone. The brute stone represents the work of the beginners who must work to polish its damages of the profane world, While the polished one is worked as it was done by the workers of the temple of Salomon, to the interior order for the construction of his temple.

The inconsistency is always a dead letter in any intellectual evolution that tends to develop fruitfully the natural progress of the ideas; but the interested opposition is more fearsome since all the weapon are used and the institutions are hidden.

For us, on the contrary, only there are fecund and profitable in educations the unlimited horizons that have no hindrance not impassable obstacle for the thought.
